After years of silence, former Marlian Records artist, Fabian ‘Inim’ Blu, has broken his silence about his alleged struggles while signed to Naira Marley’s label. Despite releasing four singles under the label, he claims he has not received any royalties or payments since his contract expired in 2022.

In an exclusive interview with media personality Chude, Fabian disclosed that when he confronted Naira Marley about his unpaid earnings and threatened legal action, the label boss laughed at him.

He further shared details of the difficult conditions he faced while at the label. According to him, he was labeled a “lazy artiste” and sidelined because he was neither Yoruba nor Muslim. He recalled being mistreated in the accommodation provided, denied access to the studio, and ignored when he sought financial assistance for his mother.

Fabian also made shocking allegations about the toxic lifestyle he was exposed to after joining Marlian Music. He claimed he was introduced to drugs and a dangerous way of living, which he has since struggled to escape.

Public Reactions
His revelations have triggered mixed reactions online, with many questioning the culture within Marlian Records. Some believe Fabian’s story is part of a larger pattern, referencing past allegations made by other former artists under the label, such as Lil Smart, DJ Splash, and the late Mohbad.

One user expressed concern over the repeated complaints against the label, stating, “There must be something about that record label the government has to look into because it’s always the same issue.”

Another echoed similar sentiments, saying, “That’s Marlian’s mode of operation. Same thing they did to Mohbad, even much more. The guy lived in so much fear that he became paranoid. Making life miserable for someone is a slow death.”

However, some fans defended Naira Marley, arguing that Fabian’s interview was part of an ongoing attempt to bring down the singer. One comment read, “Looool! Una don try bring am down, e no work. Now, una wan try another way? Back-to-back interviews just to talk bad about him?”

Others called for Naira Marley to respond to the allegations, with one comment stating, “Let’s hear from Naira Marley 👏.”

Meanwhile, some users expressed frustration over the way certain fans react to these allegations. One person noted, “Now I have come to understand that people just comment the wrong things on purpose because they want a reaction. Some of these comments just make me weak.”

Despite the backlash, Fabian Blu’s claims have reignited conversations about artist exploitation and the alleged toxic environment within the Nigerian music industry.
