Star Actress Ini Edo Mourns As First Love Dies

Popular Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, has announced the passing of her father. She shared the sad news with her fans on Instagram on Monday, February 24, 2025.

Ini Edo described her late father as her greatest supporter and said he will always hold a special place in her heart. She expressed how difficult it was for her to make the announcement but found comfort in believing that heaven had gained an angel.

“This post has been the hardest to make… I have lost my greatest cheerleader… My Beloved Father, My first Love ..The Heavens have gained an Angel.😇 You will forever remain in my heart. Rest on, King,” she wrote.

Before the death of her father, Ini Edo had gripped the Nigerian news media with her struggles before successfully becoming a mother through surrogacy.

The actress, who has a 3-year-old daughter named Light, revealed that she had difficulties carrying a pregnancy to term. After several failed attempts, she decided to go through surrogacy to have her child.

Ini disclosed that she underwent multiple IVF procedures and experienced six miscarriages before choosing surrogacy as an alternative.

She spoke about her motherhood journey while responding to questions about her child’s paternity on the reality show Young, Famous & African.

During the conversation, her co-star, Luis, asked if she had a child, and she confirmed, saying, “I have a baby girl.”
