Breaking: Senator Natasha Sues Akpabio Over N*de Dressing Claim
By Gideon Ayeni
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has filed a ₦100 billion lawsuit against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, alleging defamation through his agents accusing her of nude dressing to the Senate chambers.
GWG.ng reports that the lawsuit between Senator Akpabio and Senator Natasha comes just days after a dramatic face-off between the two in the Senate chamber.
The lawsuit by Natasha against Akpabio, which has been lodged at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, has sent shockwaves across the country, sparking intense debates about sexual misconduct in Nigeria’s political landscape.
The legal battle follows a heated altercation between Natasha and Akpabio on the Senate floor last week, during which she accused him of attempting to humiliate her by cutting her off while she was speaking.
Now, Natasha’s lawsuit takes things a step further, as sources suggest she is accusing Akpabio of years of harassment, which she claims has caused her emotional and reputational damage. The suit demands substantial compensation for these alleged wrongs.
In the statement of claim Senator Natasha alleges that agents of Senator Akpabio caused to be published defamatory words to the effect that “She thinks being a lawmaker is all about pancaking her face and wearing transparent outfits to the chambers.”
As the legal proceedings unfold, many believe this could become one of the most significant courtroom battles in Nigeria’s political history, with the outcome potentially reshaping the conversation around harassment and abuse of authority in government institutions.
GWG.ng reports that the lawsuit by Senator Natasha against Akpabio follows the decision of the Senate earlier on Tuesday to refer her to the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges following claims that she exacerbated the face-off with Akpabio by taking the issues to Brekete FM.
