Groom, Bride’s Sister Die 30 Minutes Before Wedding

A tragic incident occurred in Boto, Tafawa Balewa local government area of Bauchi State, as a groom, Abba Musa, and the bride’s elder sister, Maryam Suleiman, lost their lives in a car accident just thirty minutes before the wedding ceremony.

The heartbreaking event has left both families and the entire community in deep sorrow. According to an eyewitness, the accident happened while the victims were on their way to the ceremony from Murno, a nearby community about 5km from Boto.

A brother of the groom, Saminu Boto, described the incident as a devastating loss. “It’s an unimaginable loss. The entire community is mourning,” he said. The sudden deaths have left relatives and friends struggling to process the tragedy.

He added that the bride, Raihanatu Suleiman, and the entire family have been overwhelmed with grief. What was once a home filled with wedding preparations has now become a place of mourning.

“The dual tragedy has cast a shadow over the community, with many residents calling it one of the saddest days in recent memory,” Boto said.

Following the accident, the deceased were laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
