Psquare’s Brother Remanded In Prison
By Gideon Ayeni

Jude Okoye, the elder brother and former manager of music duo P-Square, has been remanded in prison over allegations of financial fraud involving ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,000 levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Jude Okoye and his company, Northside Music Ltd, before Justice Alexander Owoeye at the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday. He is facing a seven-count charge bordering on money laundering.
According to the EFCC, Okoye allegedly used ₦850 million from questionable sources to purchase a luxury property in Ikoyi, Lagos, in 2022. Another charge accuses him of using a Bureau de Change operator to convert over $1 million into naira to conceal the origin of the funds.
Okoye pleaded not guilty to all charges. While the EFCC requested that he be remanded in prison pending trial, his legal team appealed for him to remain in EFCC custody until his bail hearing. However, the court ruled that he should be held at the Ikoyi correctional facility until his bail application is heard on February 28.
His trial is scheduled to commence on April 14.
GWG.ng reports that the trial of Jude Okoye at the instance of the EFCC follows recent reports in Nigerian news media of the problems among the P2 brothers.
