Tuokpe Onuwaje, the ex-wife of former presidential aide Reno Omokri, has thrown her support behind Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan amid her allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

In a heartfelt message shared on Facebook, Tuokpe Onuwaje praised Senator Natasha’s courage, calling her bravery “inspiring.” She assured the senator that her voice matters and encouraged her to remain steadfast in her pursuit of justice.

“Your bravery is inspiring! Sharing your story takes immense courage, and I’m so proud of you for speaking out. Remember, you’re not alone, and your voice matters. Keep shining, and know that you’re making a difference! Sending love and prayers,” she wrote.

Senator Natasha had accused Akpabio of making sexual advances towards her, including an incident where he allegedly took her by the hand and led her around his house while her husband was present. She further claimed that the Senate President suggested she “take care of him” in exchange for favorable consideration of her motions in the Senate.

In response, Ekaette Akpabio, the wife of the Senate President, dismissed the allegations and filed two defamation lawsuits against Senator Natasha, demanding N350 billion in damages for tarnishing her husband’s reputation.

The allegations have sent the social media on frenzy, with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar calling on President Bola Tinubu to ensure an independent and transparent investigation into the matter. Similarly, former Senate President Bukola Saraki urged Akpabio to submit himself for an open probe to ensure fairness.

Meanwhile, besides his erstwhile wife, Tuokpe Onuwaje trending on Nigerian news platforms over the Natasha allegations, Reno Omokri has distanced himself from the controversy, revealing that he has been inundated with media interview requests due to his past disputes with Senator Natasha. In a statement, Omokri declined to comment on the allegations, stating that he was not present when the alleged incidents took place.

“Against my will, I have been trending on various social media platforms, and for the sake of my family, it would be best to put this matter to rest. Rather than speak with multiple media outlets, perhaps I can ease the pressure on me by putting out this statement. I do not know if what Senator Natasha Akpoti accused the Senate President of is true, as I was not physically present when the alleged events took place,” he wrote.

Despite the ongoing controversy, Senator Natasha’s husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, has reaffirmed his trust and confidence in his wife, standing by her amid the storm.
