Contrary to earlier reports suggesting he was kidnapped and killed, former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), David Shikfu Parradang, has been confirmed dead in his hotel room in Abuja.

According to the FCT Police Command, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel at Area 3 Junction on March 3, 2025, around noon. He arrived in a black Mercedes Benz and booked a one-night stay for ₦22,000. Shortly after, he reportedly requested hotel staff to escort a female visitor to his room.

The woman later left the hotel at approximately 4:00 PM. However, when Parradang failed to come out of his room, concerns grew. In the early hours of March 4, a military officer who was his friend visited the hotel to check on him. Upon entering the room with hotel staff, they discovered Parradang’s lifeless body seated in a chair.

Durumi Police Station operatives were alerted, securing the scene, documenting evidence, and taking photographs before transferring his body to the National Hospital for further examination. Meanwhile, investigators have begun questioning hotel staff and are working to locate the female guest who was with him before his death.

The FCT Police Command has cautioned against the spread of false information linking his demise to kidnapping or assassination. Authorities have assured the public that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
