Igbo Women Protest Herdsmen Attacks, Sexual Exploitation (Video)
By Gideon Ayeni

A group of Igbo women from Eha-Amufu in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State took to the streets in protest against the continuous attacks by suspected herdsmen in their communities.
During the protest on Tuesday, the women lamented the worsening security situation in Igbo land, alleging that their farmlands had been taken over, leaving them and their families in hunger. They also accused the attackers of subjecting them to sexual violence, inserting objects into victims’ private parts, and brutally assaulting their husbands and sons.
Chanting solidarity songs, the women protesters called on the Enugu State government to urgently intervene and restore peace to their communities.
“We are going hungry because we cannot go to the farm. They beat our husbands and sons, and they are sleeping with our women forcefully,” one of the protesters cried out.
