In a dramatic turn of events, Nigerian controversial online matchmaker, Lege Miami, has fired back at social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), for his recent remarks about Seyi Tinubu, the son of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu.

The beef began when VeryDarkMan took to social media to criticize Seyi Tinubu and his father, President Bola Tinubu. In his viral video, VeryDarkMan described President Tinubu as “old” and claimed that those around him had “dusty brains covered in cobwebs.” He further urged Seyi, who he suggested was influenced by these outdated minds, to take inspiration from technological advancements he witnessed in China and advocate for Nigerian youths.

This criticism didn’t sit well with Lege Miami, who quickly responded in defense of his close friend, Seyi Tinubu. In a video circulating widely on Nigerian news platforms, Lege appeared shirtless, wearing only a pair of shorts, and passionately defended his relationship with Seyi.

Lege stated that VeryDarkMan had no right to call out Seyi, emphasizing that he is a loyal friend of the Tinubu family and that there’s “no going back” on his support. Lege dismissed VeryDarkMan’s criticism, mocking his use of English and suggesting that if VeryDarkMan couldn’t understand his words, he should get an interpreter.

Lege further gave VeryDarkMan an ultimatum: 18 hours to retract his statement. He asked whether VeryDarkMan could even stand in the same room as Seyi Tinubu, or match his level of influence and personality. Referring to Seyi as “my chairman” and “my friend,” Lege Miami made it clear that he expected an apology from VeryDarkMan for insulting both Seyi and his father, the president.

In a follow-up video, Lege reiterated his disapproval, questioning how VeryDarkMan could make such disparaging remarks about Seyi and his father. He also claimed that VeryDarkMan had been “asking for prison” since last year and could now face the consequences of his actions.

The confrontation has sparked a flurry of reactions online, with fans and critics expressing diverse opinions in the comments.

Many people have reacted humorously, commenting on the drama between Lege Miami and VeryDarkMan. Some users seemed to enjoy the theatrics, with one writing, “This egbon and fooling ehn 😂. Na our media houses and blogs they give them platform, Sha.” Others criticized Lege Miami’s antics, with one Twitter user calling him a “múmú” (fool) and questioning why he would resort to insults instead of addressing the matter more rationally.

There were also those who sided with VeryDarkMan, arguing that his criticisms of Seyi Tinubu’s family were justified. “Imagine calling your president an old head filled with cobwebs, VDM needs to be stopped,” one user commented. Another added, “The first person to give someone 18 hours to apologize over something he didn’t understand because of English speaking 😂.”

The battle between the two influencers shows no sign of cooling down, with fans predicting more drama ahead. As the matter continues to escalate, Nigerian social media users are eagerly watching to see whether Lege Miami’s challenge to VeryDarkMan will result in an apology, or whether this conflict will spiral into an even bigger spectacle.

Reactions from the Social Media Sphere:

@wizkidgirl_: “This one hungry wan kpai am.”

@echoeofself: “Wait, who said school was scam again?”

@kraft_demo: “The first person to give someone 18 hours to apologize over something he didn’t understand because of English speaking 😂.”

@pridecrib: “This one don wan escalate this matter oh.”

@Veezyveezy200: “Wetin dey do lege abeg?”

@mc_chez1: “This one just dey pour spit everywhere, oga calm down and talk naa.”

As the drama unfolds, Nigerian Twitter remains divided, with some entertaining the spectacle and others calling for more responsibility from online personalities. Whether this beef will be settled peacefully or continue to spiral remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—this week is far from boring.
