Ex-Wife Mocks Odion Ighalo’s Tithing Claims
By Gideon Ayeni

Sonia Adesuwa, ex-wife of Nigerian footballer Jude Ighalo, has taken a swipe at him over his claims of dedicating 10% of his earnings as tithe to religious leaders.
In a fiery Instagram post, Sonia accused Ighalo of neglecting his family while making grand public gestures of generosity to the church.
She alleged that despite his wealth, his elder sister sells garri and tomatoes in a kiosk, while his siblings and their families live in his homes without any clear means of livelihood. According to her, Ighalo’s pastors, whom she referred to as “Aza Men,” pressured him into tithing, ensuring they benefitted from his earnings.
Sonia further claimed that Ighalo funds bloggers to smear her image, vowing to keep exposing him. She questioned why he prioritizes tithing when, in her words, his own family is struggling to make ends meet.
“10% to Aza Men pastors when your family never chop finish. No be juju be that?” she wrote, sparking heated debates online about Ighalo’s financial priorities and the authenticity of his tithing claims.
