Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, has opened up about the main reason behind his fallout with his longtime friend and former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

Speaking as a guest on The Honest Bunch podcast, Momodu revealed that their rift began when he declared his interest in contesting the presidential election. According to him, Wike had initially shown no clear intention of running, but his public engagements and media presence suggested otherwise.

Momodu explained that before making his decision public, he had consulted several supporters and then approached Wike to discuss the possibility of securing his backing, given the challenges he would face in garnering votes from the North. However, he was met with an unexpected reaction.

Instead of offering support, Wike allegedly distanced himself and later made dismissive remarks about Momodu during multiple television interviews.

Their fallout, according to Momodu, stemmed from Wike’s unwillingness to support his presidential bid despite their prior friendship. The revelation has further fueled discussions about political alliances and betrayals within the PDP.

Meanwhile, A video making rounds on social media has captured Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, distributing food packages—believed to contain rice—to people in Northern Nigeria.

While some have praised his gesture as a commendable act of charity and a strategic move to strengthen grassroots support ahead of upcoming elections, others have criticized it, accusing him of overstepping his role and acting like the “acting Vice President.”
