Video: King Charles Credits Davido For His Pidgin English

King Charles III has expressed his admiration for Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Davido. The British monarch shared his thoughts during the premiere of ‘The King’s Music Room’, a new Apple Music show that aired on Monday, March 10, 2025.
According to King Charles, Davido’s music has influenced him in an unexpected way. He revealed that listening to the singer’s songs made him develop a liking for Pidgin English.
In a post shared by Davido on his Instagram story, the King also expressed his eagerness to speak Pidgin English on his next visit to Nigeria. He further praised the Afrobeat music genre, noting its growing global recognition.
“Davido has made me love Pidgin language. I would like to speak it the next time I visit Nigeria. Thanks to Afrobeats, it’s becoming more popular around the world,” Charles III stated.
Meanwhile, Davido has shared his admiration for Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, calling him the greatest footballer of all time.
With this statement, the singer places Osimhen above other Nigerian football stars, including Ademola Lookman and Victor Boniface.
Osimhen, a former player for LOSC Lille, has become one of Nigeria’s most outstanding footballers in recent years. With 35 appearances for the national team, he has consistently displayed remarkable talent on the field.
One of his most notable achievements was his crucial role in Napoli’s Serie A victory, where he significantly contributed to the team’s success. As Nigeria’s second-highest goal scorer of all time, with 21 goals, Osimhen continues to be a key player for the Super Eagles.
