Fubara Reacts To Tinubu’s Declaration Of Emergency Rule
By Imman Onyero

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has kept mum to the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State saying that it was yet too early to comment on the unfolding development
GWG.ng reports that President Bola Tinubu had earlier on Tuesday slammed Fubara for leading the arson in the State House of Assembly and also not fastracking the implementation of the Supreme Court judgment that recognised the Marins Amuwhele led House of Assembly.
However, through the Commissioner of Information and Communications, Joseph Johnson, the governor said it was too hasty for the government to take any position.
Johnson said: “The president has made a declaration and what do you think we can say. I think it is too hasty to make any comment about it.”
Following the declaration of a state of emergency, President Tinubu had suspended Governor Fubara and his deputy Prof Ngozi Odu from office for a period of six months in the first instance.
The development was upon the multi-dimensional crisis in the state that had seen the governor and the state house of assembly at daggers drawn.
President Tinubu has meanwhile, nominated Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd) as Administrator to take charge of the affairs of the state for the period that Fubara is on suspension during the state of emergency.
