The woman was allegedly punished for beating her child, who had been running around the church. In an attempt to discipline her for the act, the pastor flogged her in front of the entire congregation. After administering the beating, he handed the cane to another woman in a red garment, who also struck the crying victim while the congregation reacted in shock.
A video of the incident has gone viral, circulating widely on social media and Nigerian news platforms. The footage captures the woman enduring multiple lashes while church members looked on. The disturbing scene has triggered heated debates online, with many questioning the pastor’s authority and the woman’s willingness to accept such treatment.
