New Controversy Erupts Over Nursing Students’ ‘Revolt’ Against Remi Tinubu (Video)
By Benjamin Abioye

A nursing student has dismissed claims that students in Agbor protested during Remi Tinubu’s visit, clarifying that the event took place in Asaba, not Agbor.
A student from the School of Nursing, Agbor has come forward to clarify the controversy surrounding the visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, to Delta State.
In a video statement, the student dismissed claims that the incident took place in Agbor and insisted that her school should not be blamed for what transpired.
According to her, the event was held at the Dome Event Center in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, and not in Agbor, as some reports have suggested. She stated that multiple nursing schools, staff nurses, midwives, and government officials were in attendance, including the state governor and his wife.
She also defended students from the School of Nursing, Agbor, saying they did not participate in singing the controversial song directed at the First Lady. She explained that while the event’s MC asked attendees to sing along, her school did not take part in it.
“I don’t know who posted that video and captioned it that the President’s wife came to Agbor, our school. Please disregard that information. She did not come to Agbor. The event was held in Asaba, and Agbor students did not partake in that song,” she stated.
However, her video has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some users accused her of trying to defend her school under pressure, while others questioned why she felt the need to explain at all.
A user, @Akinjoshua2017, commented, “Tarnish which image? We are proud of your actions that day joor. Dem don dey threaten the school abi? Somebody said they will not accredit them, and I thought he was joking, but it’s sounding like truth.”
Another user, @frankisenxx, speculated political pressure behind her statement, saying, “I won’t be surprised if they have reached out to this girl to make such a video, because what APC and BAT government cannot do does not exist.”
Some were outright dismissive of her statement. @realTobiAkinbo wrote, “This girl foolish die! Which image? Una get any image to be tarnished?”
Others mocked her for making the video, with @MaxySimon3 quoting former First Lady Patience Jonathan, saying, “WILL YOU KEEP QUIET?”
Many users also suspected fear was the reason for her video. @Loadedbrodah tweeted, “Small threat, una don dey defend. We don shaa hear una loud and clear.”
While the student’s statement aimed to set the record straight, it seems to have intensified the online debate, with many questioning her motives and the timing of her response.
