Senators Serenade GWG Publisher, Emmanuel Aziken After Mother’s Death

Some of Nigeria’s most outstanding senators of the Fourth Republic have sent condolences to Emmanuel Aziken, publisher of GWG.ng on the death of his mother, Madam Helen Erina Aziken.

Among the serving and former senators that have sympathized with him and the larger Aziken family of Omumu, Agbor are Senators Joy Emodi, James Manager, Oserheimen Osunbor and Tony Nwoye.

GWG.ng reports that Madam  Helen Aziken died on Sunday, March 23 at Heartland Cardiovascular Consultants, Asokoro, Abuja where she had received therapy over the past eight years for a heart condition.

Senator Osunbor, a professor of law and former governor of Edo State who served in the Senate between 1999 and 2007 when he won renown for his regular supply of the latices that oiled the process of lawmaking, wrote:

“My sincere condolences Emmanuel on the passing of your beloved mother. May her soul rest in peace and may He comfort you and members of your family over the sad loss.”

Senator Joy Emodi who served in the 5th and 6th Senates, when she won aplomb as the Joy of The Senate for the grace and grandness she radiated in the chamber wrote:

“Hei Emma so sorry for the loss of your dear mum.  Thank GOD she lived a purposeful life. May her soul rest in peace.”

Senator James Manager who represented the Delta South Senatorial District in the period between 2003 and 2023 becoming a vestibule of the institutional memory of the Senate in a phone call condoled with Mr Aziken urging him to cheer despite the irreplaceable loss.

Senator Nwoye, a former president of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, and a mainstay of the subtleties in the highly fluid Anambra political ecosystem lamented the development in a phone call.

“So mama is gone,” Senator Nwoye who spoke to and visited Madam Aziken with his grace during her time of sickness lamented.

Helen Aziken born in Alisor, Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State was a dedicated merchant, housewife and mother to Chukwudi (deceased), Emmanuel, Gladys Ozor, Chukwuekwu Oyema Aziken, Grace Ojji and step-mother to Augustine Oyema-Aziken, Monday Aziken and Julie Ndidi Ogboi.

A dedicated doyenne of the Aziken stock of Omumu, Agbor, Helen Erina Aziken is remembered for her inspirational instructorship of many within and outside the family loop including Benard Aziken, erstwhile chairman of Ika Local Government Area, Frank Aziken, a retired school principal, late Apostle John Aziken, among many others.
