Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has received a one-match touchline suspension after being booked during his team’s FA Cup quarter-final victory over Bournemouth.

Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, has been handed a one-match touchline ban after receiving a yellow card during his team’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.

During the match, referee Stuart Atwell cautioned Guardiola for dissent. The booking came after Erling Haaland was fouled and had to leave the pitch due to a suspected knee injury caused by a tackle from Lewis Cook.

As Bournemouth continued playing despite Haaland signaling for a substitution, tensions rose on the field. Kevin De Bruyne confronted Cook about the challenge, while Guardiola voiced his frustrations from the sideline. This reaction led to him receiving a yellow card.

This is Guardiola’s third booking of the season, which means he will miss City’s next Premier League match against Leicester on Wednesday. He had previously been cautioned during a 2-2 draw with Arsenal in September and a 3-2 victory over Fulham in October.

Despite the incident, Guardiola praised the efforts of some of his key players after the win, saying, “Today, Bernardo, Gundo, and Kevin—they are really good.” He highlighted the balance between experienced and younger players in his squad.

Looking ahead, Manchester City will now shift focus to their upcoming Premier League game against Leicester before facing Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi-finals in April.
