Nigerian Afrobeats star, Emmanuel Adewale, popularly known as Mayorkun, has created online buzz after revealing that he is considering relocating abroad due to the challenges facing the country.
Taking to his X handle, the “Mayor of Lagos” hitmaker hinted at his thoughts on leaving Nigeria. He simply wrote, “I dey reason to japa”, a popular slang meaning he is contemplating relocating.

Mayorkun’s statement comes at a time when more Nigerian celebrities are choosing to settle abroad, citing economic struggles and other challenges. Over the years, notable figures such as Banky W, Tacha, Eldee, Dr. Sid, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Rita Dominic, Uche Jombo, and Emeka Ike have either relocated or spent extended periods outside the country.
His post has since sent the social media abuzz, with fans reacting to the growing trend of entertainers considering opportunities outside Nigeria.
