Premier League: Arsenal Survive Fulham’s Late Fightback!
By Benjamin Abioye

Some games are won with flair, others with pure grit—Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Fulham at the Emirates had a bit of everything.
It was a night filled with drama, precision, and late tension as the Gunners secured another crucial three points in their pursuit of Premier League dominance.
From the start, Arsenal looked determined to impose themselves, controlling possession and probing for openings. Their patience paid off in the 36th minute when Mikel Merino broke the deadlock. A well-worked attack saw Ethan Nwaneri deliver a clever assist, allowing Merino to calmly place his shot into the bottom left corner. The Emirates erupted as Arsenal took a deserved lead, heading into halftime in control.
But Fulham were never going to roll over. Just six minutes into the second half, the visitors hit back. Joachim Andersen, rising highest from a set-piece, powered home a header to bring the score level. Suddenly, the momentum shifted. Arsenal, momentarily stunned, had to find a response, and it came through none other than Bukayo Saka.
In the 72nd minute, Saka delivered what would ultimately be the winning goal. Gabriel Martinelli, a constant threat on the wing, whipped in a pinpoint cross, and Saka was there to meet it, directing his header past the keeper. Arsenal had regained their lead, but the drama wasn’t over yet.
With Fulham pushing forward desperately in stoppage time, Arsenal had to dig deep. Rodrigo Muniz clawed one back in the 93rd minute, slotting home from close range after a scramble in the box. The tension was palpable, but Arsenal’s defense held firm. A few nerve-wracking moments later, the final whistle blew, confirming another home victory for the Gunners.
It wasn’t the most dominant performance, but it was the kind of win that shows character. Arsenal’s ability to find solutions in tight moments continues to fuel their Premier League charge. Fulham may have pushed them all the way, but when it mattered most, Arsenal had the answers.
