The Super Eagles have climbed to 43rd in the latest FIFA rankings after a win and a draw in March World Cup qualifiers and are currently holding 6th position in Africa.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up one spot in the latest FIFA World Ranking, which was released on April 3, 2025.

The team had a mixed performance during the March international break, securing a win and a draw in their two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria defeated Rwanda 2-0 away from home, with goals from Victor Osimhen, but were held to a 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe at home after leading by one goal.

Despite their slim chances of qualifying for the World Cup, as they are currently in third place in Group C, six points behind South Africa, the Super Eagles have improved their position in the world rankings. They have moved from 44th place to 43rd, according to the new ranking.

In Africa, Nigeria is ranked 6th, behind Ivory Coast in 5th place and Algeria in 4th. Morocco, ranked 12th globally, holds the top spot in Africa, followed by Senegal (19th in the world) and Egypt (32nd in the world). Argentina remains the number one team globally, with Spain, France, England, and Brazil rounding out the top five.
