World Famous Bollywood Legend Dies

Renowned Bollywood actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar has passed away at the age of 87 in Mumbai, marking the end of an era in Indian cinema.
Confirming the heartbreaking news, Dr. Santosh Shetty of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital revealed that Manoj Kumar died from age-related health complications. Kumar had reportedly been battling health issues for an extended period, according to his son, Kunal Goswami, who spoke with ANI.
Born Harikrishan Goswami in Punjab in 1937, Manoj Kumar became a household name in the 1960s and 1970s through his deeply patriotic films that resonated with millions. His timeless classics such as Shaheed, Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, and Kranti solidified his reputation as a filmmaker who infused national pride into storytelling.
Kumar’s contributions to Indian cinema earned him numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honour, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the country’s most prestigious award in film.
Following the announcement of his passing, tributes flooded social media. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Kumar as “an icon of Indian cinema” whose films “ignited a spirit of national pride.”
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit also paid homage, describing Kumar’s death as “a great loss to the industry,” adding that “the entire industry would miss him dearly.”
Manoj Kumar leaves behind a cinematic legacy etched in patriotism, passion, and purpose.
