Assassination Plot: Akpoti-Uduaghan Urged To Produce Evidence In 7 Days Or …
By Imman Onyero

The Executive Watchdog, a public accountability and governance advocacy group, has given Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan a seven-day ultimatum to provide evidence of the assassination plot levelled against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, failing which she should be arrested.
In a statement released by Fidelis Ella, spokesperson for the group, Executive Watchdog described Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claims as “reckless, unfounded, and deeply injurious to democratic integrity.”
“Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has, regrettably, abandoned the decorum expected of a stateswoman and instead chosen the path of political arson—fueling public sentiment with allegations devoid of evidence or legal grounding,” Ella said.
He urged Senator Akpabio’s legal team to subpoena the Inspector-General of Police to obtain the original petition submitted by Senator Natasha, stating that if such a serious accusation was made, it must not be left to public speculation but addressed within the bounds of the law. The group as such gave the Senator a seven-day ultimatum to provide evidence of her claim failing which she should be prosecuted.
Ella argued that Natasha’s public conduct reveals “a pattern not merely of libel, but of calculated subversion,” warning that it threatens the fabric of public trust and democratic governance.
“At this point, this has gone far beyond criminal defamation. It is an affront to the principle that truth must precede judgment. Even if public opinion is manipulated in her favor, the rule of law does not bend to virality,” he stated.
He concluded by calling for accountability and restraint in public discourse, noting that “the integrity of our institutions cannot be sacrificed on the altar of political sensationalism.”
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has yet to provide material evidence to support her allegation of an assassination plot against her.
The Executive Watchdog emphasized that it will continue to monitor the situation and advocate for responsible civic engagement and truth-based leadership.
