Group Distances Self From Take-It-Back Protest Hours Before Kick-off

The Northern Youth Council on Take-It-Back protest has firmly disassociated itself from the planned nationwide demonstration, cautioning that such an action could ignite further unrest and destabilize the country.
In a statement issued in Kaduna on Sunday, the group’s president, Isah Abubakar, addressed the growing agitation among Nigerian youths. He acknowledged their frustrations but emphasized that the current climate demands caution, unity, and meaningful dialogue. The Northern Youth Council on Take-It-Back protest stressed that now is not the time for disruptive street action.
Highlighting the fragile socio-political atmosphere in Nigeria, the Northern Youth Council on Take-It-Back protest expressed concerns that the demonstration could worsen tensions. The group urged young Nigerians to seek peaceful channels of engagement and warned against repeating the tragic events of previous protests, particularly the EndSARS movement, which was hijacked by hoodlums and led to widespread destruction.
