Nigerian Gospel Singers Die Accident

The Ogun State Commander and Public Information Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Florence Okupe, confirmed the tragic death of four Nigerian gospel singers in Ogun State.

The singers were involved in a deadly car accident on the Ikorodu/Sagamu Road.

In a statement released on Monday, Okupe identified the victims as Evangelist Ayodeji Kekerejesu, Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin, and Opeyemi Adesina. She explained that the fatal accident occurred when the vehicle carrying the gospel singers collided with another vehicle. The four singers, who were from the same family, died instantly at the scene.

Okupe extended her condolences to the families of the deceased and urged drivers to be more cautious on the roads, particularly advising against speeding.

In a related incident, a separate accident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Saturday morning claimed the lives of at least seven people. According to Florence Okpe, the FRSC spokesperson for Ogun, the collision took place around 7:00 a.m. and involved a Mack truck, a tanker, and a bus. The crash resulted in 15 people being involved, including 13 men and two women. Four people were injured, while seven lost their lives.

Okpe stated that the accident was caused by excessive speed and the driver of the Mack truck losing control, which led to the truck colliding with the other two vehicles.
