Nollywood Star Clears Air On Okrika Business
By Benjamin Abioye

Nollywood actor, Sylvester Madu, popularly known as Shina Rambo, has cleared the air about rumours claiming he sells second-hand clothes, commonly called okrika.
A video that went viral in 2023 showed the actor selling clothes displayed on the floor in a market in Enugu. This video led many people to assume that he was selling okrika.
However, in an interview with media personality, Patience Yisa, the actor denied the claims. He explained that although the clothes were on the floor, it does not mean they were second-hand items.
Madu said, “First of all, I don’t sell okrika. Those clothes I was filmed selling are not necessarily okrika because they were on the floor. I don’t sell okrika. I import from the U.S.”
He further explained that he has been in the clothing business for many years, importing brand-new clothes from the United States and running several shops with the help of his workers.
According to him, he enjoys participating in the business directly, not just staying idle or acting like a big man.
He said, “I have multiple shops and I have boys who sell for me. I don’t do big man, I go to the field to sell by myself. I have a lot of people selling for me. I have different shops. I monitor my business. I have been doing this business for over 30 years.”
Madu made it clear that he is proud of his business, and his involvement in sales is not because of poverty, but because he values hard work and does not like to be idle.
