Anambra: Abuja Real Estate Developer Emerges PDP Candidate
By Gideon Ayeni

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially selected Chief Jude Ezenwafor as its candidate for the November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State.
Ezenwafor, an Abuja-based real estate developer, who was the sole aspirant, emerged as the governorship candidate of the PDP at the primary held on Tuesday at the Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka, Anambra State.
Despite being unopposed, the party proceeded with a formal voting process to affirm his candidacy. A total of 853 delegates participated in the election — 839 from the 21 local government areas in the state, and 14 national delegates.
The national delegates were the first to cast their votes, followed by delegates from the local governments, all of whom wrote Ezenwafor’s name on their ballots in a symbolic endorsement.
With this development, the PDP joins other major political parties in Anambra State that have unveiled their candidates for the hotly contested governorship race.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) re-nominated incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) selected Prince Nicolas Ukachukwu.
The Labour Party is fielding George Muoghalu, and the African Action Congress (AAC) named Nollywood actress and activist Chioma Ifemeludike, the only female candidate in the race so far.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitored the primary elections across the state to ensure compliance with electoral guidelines.
