Video: Wike, Suspended Rivers Lawmakers Strategise Over Dinner In UK

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, hosted members of the suspended Rivers State House of Assembly in the United Kingdom on Monday.
The lawmakers were in the UK for a Legislative Capacity Building Course.
According to a video shared by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, “Yesterday, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, hosted Rivers State House of Assembly members who are in the United Kingdom for Legislative Capacity Building, to a dinner.”
Olayinka further stated that Wike departed Nigeria on Sunday night after meeting with his political associates in Port Harcourt. He added, “Wike left Nigeria on Sunday night after visiting his political friends and associates in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.”
In a statement last week, Martins Wachukwu, Special Assistant on Media to the Speaker of the Rivers Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, explained that the UK tour aimed to enhance the legislative skills of the lawmakers. Wachukwu said, “The UK tour aims to enhance lawmakers’ legislative skills.” The 10th Rivers Assembly Legislative Tour of the UK was officially opened by Amaewhule on Friday.
