Former Senate Minority Leader Condoles With GWG Publisher, Aziken On Mother’s Death

Former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Lawali Shuaibu has expressed sorrow on the demise of Madam Helen Erina Aziken, mother of Emmanuel Aziken, publisher of GWG.ng

Senator Shuaibu who served two terms in the Senate between 1999 and 2007 becoming the Senate Minority Leader expressed his condolence in a phone message to Emmanuel Aziken.

Known for his taciturn albeit disciplined inclinations, Senator Shuaibu called to enquire following news of the death in one of the APC platforms.

“Emma, did you lose anyone? Senator Lawali Shuaibu,” asked in his normally mindful approach.

When told of the death of Madam Helen Aziken, Senator Shuaibu offered well wishes and comfort.

Though unpretentious in his political proclivities, Senator Lawali Shuaibu was a recurring factor in the political dynamics that shaped the Senate in the period between 1999 and 2007.

GWG.ng reports that Madam Helen Aziken died on Sunday, March 23 at Heartland Cardiovascular Consultants, Asokoro, Abuja where she had received therapy over the past eight years for a heart condition.

Born in Alisor, Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, the late Helen Aziken was a dedicated merchant, housewife and mother to Chukwudi (deceased), Emmanuel, Gladys Ozor, Chukwuekwu Oyema Aziken, Grace Ojji and step-mother to Mrs. Oshi Okeosisi, Augustine Oyema-Aziken, Monday Aziken and Julie Ndidi Ogboi.

A dedicated doyenne of the Aziken stock of Omumu, Agbor, Helen Erina Aziken is remembered for her inspirational instructorship of many within and outside the family loop including Benard Aziken, erstwhile chairman of Ika Local Government Area, Frank Aziken, a retired school principal, late Apostle John Aziken, among many others.
