Barr Kingsley Otuaro, the immediate past deputy governor of Delta State, has confirmed the pictures of him with national leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC but firmly denied assertions of defection arising from the pictures.

In a statement signed by his spokesman, Pastor Arex Akemotubo, Deacon Otuaro attributed his interactions with APC leaders to normal cross-party engagements on national issues of mutual interest. He, however, did not give details of the interactions.

“The photograph circulating online showing the immediate past Deputy Governor of Delta State, H.E. Dcn. Kingsley B. Otuaro, alongside leaders of the APC, has sparked public speculation.

“We wish to state that this should not be taken as an indication that he is decamping or has decamped to APC.

“It’s normal for leaders across party lines to interact and engage on various national issues of mutual interest.

“Such interactions are a testament to the maturity of our democracy and the spirit of collaboration that transcends party differences.”

GWG.ng reports that Otuaro was one of those who showed interest in succeeding his erstwhile boss, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as governor but was not successful in the face of zonal permutations among others.
