In a move to upgrade its digital infrastructure and enhance customer experience, FirstBank has announced a scheduled system maintenance that will take place in the early hours of Sunday, April 13, 2025.

According to a statement from First Bank to customers, the maintenance will begin at 12:30 a.m. and end by 9:00 a.m. (WAT). During this period, card-based transactions on ATMs, POS terminals, and web platforms will be temporarily unavailable.

Additionally, services via FirstBank’s Agency Banking POS terminals and new user enrollments on FirstMobile and USSD will also be affected.

However, First Bank assured customers that existing users will still have access to services on FirstMobile, USSD, and FirstOnline during the maintenance window. Likewise, non-card transactions at agent locations will remain active and unaffected.

FirstBank apologized for any inconvenience the downtime may cause and thanked its customers for their continued patience and understanding, emphasizing that the planned upgrade is part of ongoing efforts to deliver more efficient banking services.

As part of the notice, the bank also encouraged customers to keep their records updated by visiting any of its branches.

Importantly, FirstBank issued a security reminder, stating that it will never request sensitive banking details such as online banking passwords, token responses, card numbers, or ATM PINs. Customers are strongly advised to report any suspicious calls or messages immediately.
