WhatsApp To Stop Working On Some iPhones, Android Phones From May 2025 (Full Lists)
By Gideon Ayeni

Popular messaging platform WhatsApp will soon stop working on several older models of iPhones and Android smartphones, Meta has announced.
The move comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the app’s security, performance, and compatibility with newer devices.
According to Meta, starting May 5, 2025, WhatsApp will no longer support iPhones running versions below iOS 15.1 and Android phones operating on software older than Android 5.0. Users on these outdated systems are advised to update their devices or risk losing access to the app.
“Before we stop supporting your operating system, you’ll receive notifications in WhatsApp and be reminded several times to upgrade,” the company said in a statement. “We’ll continue to update this page regularly to ensure that the latest supported operating systems are listed.”
