Portable Begs, Gets N1m Stringent Bail
By Gideon Ayeni

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been granted bail in the sum of ₦1 million following his arraignment in Kwara State over a defamation case instituted by renowned Fuji musician, Okunola Saheed, better known as Saheed Osupa.
The bail was granted on Monday, April 14, 2025, after Portable appeared in court in response to the charges brought against him. His legal counsel, Isaac Adebayo, confirmed that the court approved the bail following an oral application.
The legal tussle stems from a petition filed by Saheed Osupa, who accused Portable of criminal defamation, threat to life, incitement, character assassination, and conduct capable of breaching public peace.
Speaking on the matter, Adebayo revealed that efforts were made to resolve the issue amicably at the police station, but Osupa rejected the apology.
“Saheed is claiming that he (Portable) defamed his character, intimidated him, and other allegations. We were at the police station, and Portable begged him. Even the Commissioner of Police intervened, but he refused,” Adebayo stated.
The bail conditions, according to the lawyer, were considered tough but achievable. “Although the conditions are a bit stringent, we will meet them. He was asked to produce the Kwara State Chairman of PMAN as a surety, another person with a landed property in GRA, and a ₦1 million bond,” he added.
