Disrespectful Comparing Me With Portable, “My Craze Was Justified” – Terry G
By Benjamin Abioye

Popular Nigerian musician Terry G has spoken out against being compared to fellow artiste Portable, calling such comparisons disrespectful.
In a post shared on his social media page, Terry G said, “Comparing me to Portable is disrespectful because I actually have music people listen to 10 years later.” He emphasized that his songs have stood the test of time, unlike what he implied about Portable’s music.
Though Terry G is known for his eccentric and energetic style — famously referred to as the “Akpako Master” — he noted that there’s a big difference between him and Portable, especially in terms of behavior and career history. He added, “E still no craze reach me. My craze dey justified.”
Some online users had claimed that Terry G once compared himself to Portable during a podcast interview. But Terry G quickly dismissed the claim, saying, “You go dey believe Nedu podcast?” This was his way of distancing himself from the idea that he had ever drawn such comparisons himself.
Interestingly, despite his current comments, Terry G has once worked with Portable on a song. Still, he made it clear that working with someone does not mean being alike in character or legacy.
His statements come shortly after Portable was arrested and briefly held over slander-related allegations. The timing has added more buzz to the online discussion between the two street-pop figures.
