At Signal Iduna Park, Borussia Dortmund delivered a spirited performance, defeating FC Barcelona 3-1. Serhou Guirassy was the standout player, netting a hat-trick for Dortmund.

Despite this impressive display, Barcelona’s substantial 4-0 lead from the first leg ensured their progression to the semi-finals with a 5-3 aggregate score. An own goal by Dortmund’s Ramy Bensebaini, under pressure from Robert Lewandowski, provided Barcelona’s only goal of the match. Barcelona’s advancement marks their first semi-final appearance in six years.

At Villa Park, Aston Villa showcased resilience, securing a 3-2 victory over Paris Saint-Germain. PSG initially extended their aggregate lead with early goals from Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes.

However, Villa responded with goals from Youri Tielemans, John McGinn, and Ezri Konsa, bringing the aggregate score to 7-4 in favor of PSG. Despite the valiant effort and home support, Villa’s comeback fell short, and PSG advanced to the semi-finals.

With these results, FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have secured their spots in the semi-finals Barcelona will face either Inter Milan or Bayern Munich, while PSG awaits the winner between Arsenal and Real Madrid The remaining quarter-final second-leg matches are scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, 2025
