Fuji Star Curses On Stage After Losing Millions In CBEX Scheme (Video)
By Benjamin Abioye

Popular Fuji musician Taye Adebisi, better known as Taye Currency, has shared how he lost N10 million in the failed investment platform, CBEX.
Taye Currency revealed his own share of the CBEX loss while performing on stage, joining a multitude of Nigerians who suffered from the ponzi scheme.
The singer, who is based in Ibadan, explained that he was introduced to the scheme by four people close to him — Sodiq, Small London, Lateef, and another unnamed individual.
“You will hear how CBEX took away over N20 million from me and people close to me,” Taye Currency said.
He went on to describe how it all started on April 1, when Sodiq visited his home and mentioned that Lateef, who worked as a brand manager, had already invested. He also brought along two others, Alaba and another man, into the deal.
“Alaba even used N1.2 million he stole from the stage to invest. Brother Muka also put in his work fee—N500,000. Lateef invested N1.4 million,” he sang during his performance.
According to him, some of his band members had earlier told him they had gained from the scheme, which convinced him to try it as well.
“Lateef said he used N200k to collect N600k. That was what pushed me. I withdrew the money I had saved with insurance and invested it on April 1, but everything vanished,” he added.
Taye Currency said he is speaking up now to reduce the stress from the CBEX loss and to avoid health problems.
He expressed anger toward those who lured him into the scheme, saying, “If they die well, they won’t rest well.”
