Izeze Announces 2025 Bursary For Ughievwen Students

The Delta State Commissioner for Works, Comrade Reuben Izeze, has announced the launch of the 2025 bursary for 220 students from Ughievwen Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

This year’s edition of the Izeze Bursary Scheme highlights the commissioner’s ongoing commitment to supporting education with the slots available to benefit from the scheme for Ughievwen students increasing.

Tisha Ejekanshe Matthew, Secretary of the Izeze Bursary Board confirmed that 220 students will be included in the 2025 edition, a 10% rise from the previous year.

“The bursary is open to Ughievwen indigenes currently enrolled in higher institutions of learning. However, applicants must be in their second year (200 level or ND II) and above, and maintain a GPA/CGPA of at least 2.5. First-year students are not eligible,” Matthew stated.

He also encouraged parents and guardians to inform their children, both in-state and out-of-state, about this opportunity.

“Applicants need to print, complete the form, and submit it with a copy of their school ID and Local Government of Origin certificate. They can either scan or take pictures of these documents and send them to the contacts provided,” he said.

Matthew further emphasized that the applications would be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with the deadline for submission set for Thursday, May 15th, 2025.

Comrade Izeze’s bursary initiative continues to be a strong source of support, encouraging Ughievwen students to excel in their higher education journeys, continuing in the trail set by his progenitors.
