Nigerians Slam Zicsaloma Mother LUTH

Zicsaloma has faced backlash after accusing LUTH of neglecting his cancer-stricken mother, with many questioning why he took her to a local hospital after flying abroad for a nose job.

Following a viral video in which Nigerian skitmaker Zicsaloma accused the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) of gross negligence toward his cancer-stricken mother, social media has erupted with strongly divided reactions, with many Nigerians offering both sympathy and some hitting him over his nose job abroad.

While the entertainer emotionally detailed how his critically ill mother was allegedly left unattended outside the hospital gate, a large segment of netizens questioned his decision to seek treatment at LUTH—given his financial ability to afford overseas plastic surgery for himself.

“You flew abroad to reshape your nose, but when it came to your mother, you took her to LUTH,” wrote @lifeissues_11.

“You took your nose without problems to Turkey, but paraded your sick mother around Nigerian hospitals,” echoed @AkindoyoOlamig1.

“If you could afford surgery abroad, why not fly your mom out for proper treatment?” asked @kingstar1000.

Another user, @sugarmummyof, broadened the conversation by highlighting systemic failures:
“LUTH happened to me too. They’re understaffed, yet the government keeps paying salaries to over 500 doctors and nurses who have relocated abroad.”

Some, however, leapt to Zicsaloma’s defense, emphasizing the harsh realities of Nigeria’s healthcare system and calling for more empathy.

“Wait till you are in his shoes, then you’ll understand better,” said @JacobUgbogbo. “May our health system not happen to you.”

“Celebs are finally experiencing what the masses go through,” shared @jamespraizee, recounting how his own brother was neglected in a public hospital.

@NelsonEmeka also related personally:
“I feel your pain. They almost finished my mum too. One result takes 3 weeks to come out. You have to be at the hospital by 6am—twice a week.”

Some also criticized the public outburst itself, questioning the motives behind Zicsaloma’s video.
“Why set up a camera to rant if you truly cared? Clout chasing or sincere pain?” asked @wizkid_empire.

The online storm has once again reignited debates around Nigeria’s fragile healthcare system, the responsibility of public figures, and the ethics of care in situations where family, fame, and finance intersect.

As of this publication, LUTH has not released a statement addressing the controversy.
