Nigeria Russia Friendly

Russia has confirmed that the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow will be the venue for the upcoming friendly match against Nigeria’s Super Eagles, scheduled for June 6.

This friendly game will be the very first meeting between the two countries at the senior level. The Luzhniki Stadium, one of Russia’s most famous sports arenas, last hosted the Russian national team on September 1, 2021, during a World Cup qualifier against Croatia.

Russia’s national team, led by coach Valery Karpin, will aim to impress when they take on the Super Eagles. Meanwhile, before traveling to Moscow, Nigeria will participate in the Unity Cup tournament. This event will see the Super Eagles face teams like Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Nigeria’s opening match in the Unity Cup will be against Ghana on May 28, and it will be played at the Gtech Community Stadium in London.

After facing Nigeria, Russia will also play another friendly match against Belarus in Minsk on June 10.

The upcoming match between Russia and Nigeria offers both teams a valuable chance to test their squads and strategies ahead of important future competitions.
