Police 16-Year-Old Boy Gun Lagos

The Police in Lagos have arrested a 16-year-old boy found with a gun in the Ebute-Ero area, following a tip-off from observant members of the community.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 16-year-old boy named Solomon Ibiwoye after he was found with a gun in the Ebute-Ero area of Lagos.

Police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, announced the arrest on Sunday. He thanked the alert residents who quickly reported the boy to the Ebute-Ero Police Division.

During a search of Solomon’s home, the police also recovered a homemade gun and an unused cartridge.

“One more firearm off the streets,” Hundeyin said, assuring that investigations are ongoing.

He further encouraged the public to always report suspicious activities, reminding everyone, “See something, say something.”

Hundeyin did not give details about how the boy got the weapon or if he was part of any criminal group but promised that the case would be properly investigated.

Meanwhile, in another development, the Oyo State Police Command has uncovered a human trafficking ring in Ibadan, the state capital.

Police officers rescued 83 people, including a child, who had been held in a house located in the Orogun area.

The police said the victims are believed to be citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo. They were allegedly lured to Nigeria with fake promises of job opportunities.

It was revealed that large amounts of money in dollars had been collected from the victims’ parents and relatives by those behind the trafficking.

The rescued individuals are now being kept at the Police Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, while investigations continue to uncover the full details of the case.
