Outrage As Hawker Washes Fallen Coconuts In Gutter (Video)
By Gideon Ayeni

A disturbing video currently making the rounds on social media has captured a Nigerian coconut seller washing peeled coconuts in a dirty roadside gutter.
In the viral clip, the vendor’s tray reportedly tipped over, causing several already-peeled coconuts — ready for sale — to fall into a gutter filled with murky, contaminated water. Shockingly, instead of discarding the coconuts, the seller was seen rinsing them directly in the dirty water, preparing to return them to his tray.
Bystanders who witnessed the act confronted the vendor, educating him about the serious health risks associated with using contaminated water to clean food meant for public consumption. They warned him about the potential dangers of washing coconut in dirty water, including the spread of waterborne diseases and infections among unsuspecting customers.

Although the vendor appeared to halt his actions after being corrected, it remains unclear whether he resumed once the concerned onlookers departed.
Meanwhile, in another development, A Nigerian woman has tearfully alleged that she was defrauded of ₦40 million by a man who promised to supply her goods, leaving her on the run from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over unpaid bank loans.
In a video currently making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter), the distraught woman recounted how she secured a ₦34 million loan from a bank in Warri and added ₦6 million of her own funds, bringing the total to ₦40 million.
