“I’m The Fuji Authority” – Kollington Fires At K1
By Benjamin Abioye

Fuji legend Kollington Ayinla has declared himself the rightful king of the genre, challenging Wasiu Ayinde (K1)’s title and claiming leadership both in Nigeria and abroad.
Veteran Fuji musician Ayinla Kollington has once again declared himself the true king of Fuji music, directly addressing his colleague Wasiu Ayinde (K1 De Ultimate) quest to lordship of the genre.
Kollington’s comments came after Wasiu’s public claims about being the “head” of the Fuji industry.
In an interview with Agbaletu TV, Kollington responded to a question about his absence at K1’s mother’s funeral and his decision not to contribute. Kollington shared that he had tried to reach out to Wasiu multiple times, calling him on New Year’s Day and later, but received no response. “I called him several times, he didn’t pick up and didn’t return the call,” he said. He added that because of this lack of communication, he chose to leave the matter alone.
Turning to Wasiu’s recent self-proclamation as the head of the Fuji industry, Kollington was quick to challenge that title. He stated, “If it is because he is the head of the princes, it is in his hometown in Ijebuland, not in the Fuji industry.” Kollington further mocked the idea of Wasiu trying to claim dominance over the entire Fuji music scene. “Even if he says he wants to be the head of the fuji industry, there is a song (he sang it), does he want to be God?” he questioned, emphasizing that no one could take his place. “I, as a person, Alhaji General Kollinton Ayinla, expect death from God come. If the one that I survived from didn’t claim my life, no one can kill me again except death from God comes, like the one that almost did.”
Kollington didn’t stop there, boldly claiming to be the true authority of Fuji music worldwide. “When they ask who is the head of Fuji Music, both here and overseas, my name will come up,” he said. He insisted that he was the undisputed leader of Fuji music, citing Wasiu’s rise in the industry as a result of his network, but dismissing his claim to the title. “By the grace of God, K1 has got the network, and he has risen. He is blessed. That doesn’t mean that tomorrow, he would begin to talk about ‘number one, or number two.’ I am the authority of fuji music in Nigeria and abroad.”
This public disagreement highlights the ongoing rivalry between the two Fuji stars, with Kollington firmly asserting his position as the true king of the genre. Fans and social media users quickly reacted to the back-and-forth, expressing mixed opinions about the two artists’ claims and the tension between them.
In addition to the Fuji music rivalry, K1 has also made headlines recently for his surprising admission that he is a member of the Celestial Church of Christ, despite being a Muslim. This revelation sparked a lot of online discussions, with many fans expressing surprise at his church membership.
The ongoing public feud and recent revelations have only fueled the conversation surrounding the dominance of Fuji music in Nigeria and the role these two legendary artists play in its future.
