Legendary sprinter Usain Bolt, who is also a big Manchester United supporter, has urged the football club to sign Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman.

Lookman currently plays for Italian side Atalanta and has been in great form.

In a video posted online, Bolt was asked about his dream signings for Manchester United. Without hesitation, he said, “The left winger from Atalanta. He’s called Lookman. I’ve watched him throughout, he’s pretty good.”

Lookman, who is 27 years old, has impressed this season by scoring five goals in the UEFA Champions League. That number equals the most goals scored by a Nigerian in a single Champions League campaign, matching records set by Victor Osimhen and Obafemi Martins.

Bolt also mentioned two other players he believes would help United: Cole Palmer from Chelsea and Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon. Talking about Gyokeres, Bolt joked that he struggles to pronounce his name.

Gyokeres is currently leading the race for the European Golden Boot with 52 goals and is already known to Manchester United’s manager, Rúben Amorim, who coached him at Sporting. However, Lookman appears to be the most realistic signing because Gyokeres may be too expensive, and there is tough competition for Palmer.

Manchester United has had a tough season in the Premier League and is currently in 14th place. While their run in the Europa League has been positive—recently winning 3-0 in a semi-final match—they still struggle to score consistently.

Bolt’s push for Lookman reflects what many fans are also saying. On social media, fans are expressing how Lookman could bring energy and creativity to Manchester United’s attack.

With the summer transfer window approaching, all eyes will be on whether the club takes Bolt’s advice and makes a move for the talented Super Eagles star.
