APGA Tinubu 2027 Candidate

Governor Soludo has announced that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has adopted President Tinubu as its candidate for the 2027 election.

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has announced that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has officially adopted President Bola Tinubu as its candidate for the 2027 presidential election. The move is despite the perceived interest of the penultimate governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi in the 2027 election.

The announcement was made during President Tinubu’s working visit to the state on Thursday, at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.

In his speech, Governor Soludo emphasized the collaboration between APGA and the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating, “Progressives are working together.” He further highlighted that both parties share a common belief in progressivism and will work together for the betterment of the country. This marks a significant political alignment in preparation for the upcoming election.

In related news, President Bola Tinubu was conferred with a chieftaincy title of ‘Dike Si Mba’ (Hero from Another Land) by traditional rulers in Anambra State. The title was bestowed upon him during his visit to the state, a gesture of honor for his contributions and strong relationship with Anambra.

The ceremony, which took place in Awka, was led by the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka of Obosi. The traditional rulers from across Anambra State were present at the event to honor the President.

President Tinubu’s visit to Anambra began with his arrival at the Chinua Achebe International Airport in Umueri around 12:15 pm, where he was warmly received by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Deputy Governor Onyeka Ibezim, and other state officials. One of the key moments of his visit was the inauguration of Anambra’s first-ever Government House, a historic milestone for the state, more than 30 years after its creation. President Tinubu also inaugurated several other important projects initiated by Governor Soludo’s administration.

This trip marks President Tinubu’s second visit to the South-East region this year, following his earlier visit to Enugu State in January.
