Kano Gov Commends DSS Over Swift Arrest In Child Murder Case (Video)
By Gideon Ayeni

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has lauded the Department of State Services (DSS) for the swift arrest of five suspects linked to the harrowing abduction and murder of a one-year-old girl, Sakina Mamuda, in Duhun Bake village, Gwarzo Local Government Area.
In a statement released by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the state government described the incident as heartbreaking and deeply disturbing. According to the statement, the suspects allegedly abducted the infant and demanded ransom from her family, only to murder her in cold blood and dispose of her body in an abandoned well.
The suspects—Zailani Rabiu, Hafizu Yusuf, Abubakar Abdulkareem, Umar Lawan, and Amadu Salisu—are all residents of the same community as the victim. They are currently being investigated for criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, and homicide.
Speaking at a joint press conference at the Government House in Kano, the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi, alongside the Commissioner for Information and other top officials, vowed that justice would be served swiftly and decisively.
“This senseless tragedy has shaken us to the core,” Governor Yusuf said. “I commend the DSS and other security agencies for their swift and decisive action. We remain committed to ensuring that perpetrators of such heinous crimes face the full wrath of the law.”
