The Nollywood industry is in mourning following the heartbreaking loss of two respected cinematographers, Onos and Gozie, who tragically died in a car crash in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The devastating news was shared by veteran Nollywood producer, Stanley Ontop, in an emotional Instagram post on Sunday. According to him, the accident occurred as the late crew members were returning from the wedding celebration of a fellow industry colleague.

Describing the day as a “Black Sunday,” Stanley revealed that Onos, who served as the Delta State Chairman of the Cinematographers Society of Nigeria (CSN), and Gozie, a well-known cinematographer based in Asaba, lost their lives in the crash.

“We lost Delta State Chairman of Cinematographers Society of Nigeria (CSN) @onos14a. We also lost a very good and talented cinematographer in Asaba, Mr @goz_man6. I am heartbroken,” Stanley wrote. “Gozie, my friend and brother… may your souls rest in peace. This too shall pass. Ontop cares. Shalom!”

The news has sent shockwaves through the Nollywood community, with colleagues, friends, and fans expressing their sorrow and paying heartfelt tributes to the late filmmakers, who were celebrated for their dedication and artistry behind the camera.
