After a decorated spell at Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti is set to take over as Brazil’s national team coach, beginning his new role on May 26.

Carlo Ancelotti, who is currently the coach of Real Madrid, will leave the Spanish club at the end of the season.

He has accepted an offer to become the head coach of the Brazilian national football team.

The 65-year-old Italian will officially begin his new role on May 26, just after the La Liga season finishes.

This is a major move in Ancelotti’s long and successful coaching journey. During his time with Real Madrid, he won 15 major trophies, including the Champions League and a recent La Liga title.

His departure comes after Real Madrid lost to Barcelona in El Clásico, a result that put them seven points behind with only three games remaining. This loss ended their hopes of winning a trophy this season—their first time going trophyless in four years.

According to Fabrizio Romano, “Carlo Ancelotti will be the new head coach of Brazil; plans have been confirmed, and an agreement is finalized.” He also mentioned that everything is being arranged: the documents have been signed, the coaching staff is being chosen, and a proper farewell from Real Madrid is in progress.

As he steps into this new role, Ancelotti will quickly be tasked with leading Brazil in World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Ecuador next month.

His appointment is also historic—he will be the first permanent foreign manager in Brazil’s football history.

Since parting ways with Dorival Junior in March, Brazil has been searching for a new permanent coach. Ancelotti’s arrival is expected to bring fresh direction and help the team return to top form.
