JAMB Launches Review Of 2025 UTME Results And Glitches
By Gideon Ayeni

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it is conducting an expedited review of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) following a flood of complaints from candidates across several states.
The board disclosed on Monday that it has received an “unusually high” volume of grievances since releasing the UTME results last Friday, with most of the issues coming from a few specific locations.
In a statement signed by its Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB said it is taking the concerns seriously and has launched a thorough investigation to determine whether any technical issues may have compromised the integrity of the exams.
“To ensure an unbiased and professional assessment, JAMB has assembled a team of experts including members of the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), assessment specialists from the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa (EARNiA), Chief External Examiners from tertiary institutions, and Vice Chancellors from various universities,” the statement read.
The board noted that this special review process is an acceleration of its standard post-examination audit, which typically takes several months to complete. It said the current focus is to scrutinize every stage of the examination process — from registration and biometric verification to testing and result compilation.
JAMB assured candidates and the general public that any verified technical anomalies would be addressed decisively. “If any issues are found to have affected the outcome of candidates’ results, appropriate remedial actions, including rescheduled exams, will be promptly implemented,” the board stated.
The move comes amid growing concerns on social media and education forums, where many candidates have questioned discrepancies in their scores and flagged irregularities during the CBT process.
With this proactive step, JAMB says it aims to safeguard the credibility of the UTME and ensure no candidate is unfairly disadvantaged.
