Nollywood is once again at the center of online drama as actress Angela Okorie takes a public swipe at her colleague Mercy Johnson-Okojie, mocking her recent weight loss and making startling allegations about her past.
The controversy between Angela Okorie and Mercy Johnson began after veteran Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop shared a video of Mercy dancing joyfully to the gospel song Obata on Instagram. The clip, intended as a cheerful moment, quickly spiraled into something more controversial when Angela Okorie dropped a scathing comment under the post regarding to Mercy Johnson’s sudden weight loss.
In the now-viral comment, Angela accused the mother of four of being a “blood-sucking demon” who had allegedly run out of blood to feed on—mocking Mercy’s visibly slimmer figure. Okorie didn’t stop there. She claimed that unless Mercy publicly apologizes to those whose “lives, destinies, and homes” she allegedly destroyed, she would never know peace.
“Blood-sucking demon no see blood suck again, e say na slimming tea,” Angela wrote with laughing emojis. “Except there’s no God—MJ, go and beg people you chop their destinies and destroyed their homes, else no peace for the wicked! Gospel songs won’t save you. Your heart is dark.”
The dramatic outburst has sent social media into a frenzy, with fans and followers of both actresses debating the shocking accusations. While Mercy Johnson has yet to respond publicly.
As of now, Mercy Johnson continues to post upbeat content, but netizens are eagerly watching to see if she will address Angela Okorie’s fiery remarks.
