By Benjamin Abioye

Osun House of Assembly members have passed a vote of confidence in Governor Adeleke, officially endorsing him for a second term ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.
Lawmakers in Osun State have openly shown their support for Governor Ademola Adeleke by passing a vote of confidence, declaring their trust in his leadership and encouraging him to run for a second term in the upcoming 2026 election.
This endorsement was formally introduced by one of the members representing the Obokun area and seconded by another from Ede South during the Assembly’s session on Tuesday.
The show of support came during a plenary session attended by the 26-member House, which includes 25 lawmakers from the ruling party and one from the opposition. Together, they stood behind the governor’s leadership and achievements so far.
While speaking during the session, the Speaker praised Governor Adeleke’s work, especially as he marked his 65th birthday. He highlighted the governor’s commitment to the development of the state and his focus on a five-point agenda.
The Speaker noted that the lawmakers, who serve as the voice of the people, were proud of the governor’s performance and urged him to continue doing more for the state.
One of the members, who represents the Boripe-Boluwaduro area, also had kind words for the governor. He described Adeleke as someone with genuine intentions and a good heart.
“Politics aside, Mr Governor is a plain-minded personality, loving and genuine. These attributes have greatly assisted him in his performance,” he said.
After the discussions, the Speaker asked the Assembly to vote on the motion of confidence, and it was passed in favour of the governor.
