Tears Flow As Akara Vendor Cries Out After Govt Destroys His Livelihood
By Gideon Ayeni

An emotional video circulating on X has stirred widespread sympathy and outrage after a heartbroken akara vendor in Lagos shared how his source of livelihood was crushed by operatives of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI).
In the now-viral clip, the visibly distressed Akara vendor was seen seated against a dark, patterned wall, crying uncontrollably as he narrated how KAI officials stormed his shop and confiscated vital tools used for his trade.
With tears streaming down his cheeks, he explained that the operatives took away his gas cylinders, pots, and groundnut oil — items crucial for frying and selling akara, his only means of feeding his family. The impact, he said, has rendered him helpless and unable to continue his small business.
The akara vendor’s body language — clasped hands, red eyes, and repeated wiping of his face — revealed the sheer emotional toll the raid has taken. At a point, he broke down completely, covering his face with his hands in a moment of complete despair.
